Dragon Egg Wire Nest

The second season of "Fire and Ice" is starting and I am ready with my version of the popular "nest" design... with a dragon twist. Here are Dany's dragon eggs on a bed of "coals". I used brass wire and some fiery seed beads for the embers. Drogon, Viserion, Rhaegon eggs are made from jasper stones.

Now biggest question is: paperweight, pendant, broche, ring, or hairclip?

Bats Bats everywhere!

Most people will tell that they don't want a bat in their hair, in fact, they are pretty much terrified of it. So it's only natural to make a hairpin in a shape of the bat. Great talking piece!

Introduction

Who knew that beads are a Schedule I addictive substance.
There are seed beads, Swarovski crystals, pearls, fiber optic beads, various natural beads and, yes, large beads with naughty engravings.
There are also pretty awesome things one can do with wire and hammer and... beads. Hammer is a wonderful implement for texturing silver wire and reliving stress - it may even ward off intruders in a pinch.
So far one of my favorite designs is a the wire "Life Tree".
For those creative types who want to try it out, there are great instructions by Dana

These are fun to make and you can get as creative with this motif as you like. Realizing that I'm making them faster than knowing what to do with them, I decided to start building an online gallery of my work for folks to peruse, comment, and purchase something they like.

I will be updating this blog as my future jewelry making endeavors progress.
